The Roller Coaster Physics set is designed to help students as they design and conduct scientific investigations, identify variables of the problem and adapt models to improve performance. It encourages data collection, charting and reporting of experimental results. This 2037 knex piece set builds 11 different roller coaster designs including a large roller coaster with clothoid loop, half pipe with circular loops, inclines planes and ball ramps. The set allows up to 6-8 student to work together and comes with student instruction booklet, teacher guide and lesson plans. The teachers guide offers ideas, in the form of nine lab exercises, that outline ways in which students in grades 11 and 12 may use the set to study physics, and in particular mechanics.
